Masque & Spectacle: An Arts & Literary Journal (New York | New York)

Masque & Spectacle 10-Minute Play Submissions

We welcome 10-minute plays (up to approximately 10 pages in length). While traditional plays are welcome, we are particularly interested in innovative and/or interdisciplinary texts that break new ground, either in relation to their subject matter, or in how the text itself is performed/written/represented on stage. Playwrights may submit one previously unpublished play for consideration. The script should be accompanied by a cover letter. Responses can be expected within a month. Acceptance rate is around 10%. Unfortunately, we are unable to pay contributors at this time.

Ucross Foundation (Clearmont | WY)

UCross Fellowship for Native American Writers

The Ucross Fellowship for Native American Writers is open to practicing writers who are currently producing work in one or more of the following genres — fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, screenwriting, playwriting, or hybrid forms. Two Ucross Fellowships for Native American Writers are awarded each year. Those selected for the fellowship are offered a four-week residency, a stipend of $2,000, and an opportunity to present work publicly.

PlayCo Submission Inquiries

We ask writers interested in PlayCo to introduce themselves and their work through our form. All submissions will be kept confidential. Please attach a play excerpt of no more than twenty (20) pages, not including the title page. If your work is a good fit, we will follow up to ask for a full script.
